Coming home after day case surgery can be scary as you might not feel very confident about deciding if your child is in pain.
It can be worrying if something feels "not quite right" or "different to usual". However asking yourself some simple questions can help you decide.
If your child is in pain, they are likely to look and sound like they are in pain. They may tell you they are sore or hurt. They may be upset and crying. Your child might be behaving differently and be clingier than usual. They might not want to move or be protecting where they had their operation. These signs will help you know if your child is in pain.
