You can play an important part in making sure that the medicine has the best chance of working and being safe. You need to think about checking that you are giving your child the right medicine and you are measuring the right amount and not giving them too many doses in 24 hours.
Pain medicines can help your child's pain but you must give them safely. Making a note of when you have given medicine can act as a reminder. Do not give more than four doses of paracetamol or three doses of ibuprofen in 24 hours.
